Wireless Software Developer
The WHERE development team is looking for a Wireless Software Developer to participate in the design of cutting edge consumer applications in the location services space.
Description:
Work with world-class wireless developers on our latest innovation, Where, a LBS, Mobile 2.0 product, combining DHTML, AJAX, and JavaScript like features. Be a part of creating this totally unique product that will be deployed on the latest phones with the highest profile carriers.
Qualifications:
- 4 plus years of Java experience.
- Good knowledge of J2ME a must!
- Experience using the Canvas class to develop UI components and/or games is a strong plus.
- Background with design patterns is a plus.
- Experience with performance optimization and reducing code size is a plus.
- XML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Tomcat, and Spring are a plus but not required.

Web Designer
uLocate Communication Inc, North America's leading publisher of mobile location services, is seeking a full-time, on-site Web Designer. You will have an equal flair for solving both creative and technical problems to help build www.where.com into a premier consumer site for WHERE mobile location-based services.
Description:
The Web Designer will create design prototypes - including graphic design, site navigation, and layout of content - for hr@ulocate.com. The mission is to establish visual concepts that both help build the WHERE brand and ensure that the Web site is easy to navigate. The successful candidate will have knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator in order to produce layouts and manipulate images. Skills in cascading style sheets (CSS), e-commerce, internet security and server side technologies, such as PHP and Perl, will also be important. Preference will be given to candidates with skills in multimedia and mobile Web development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications or other discipline related to the primary responsibilities and two to four years of experience in web design.
- Experience with CSS producing table-less, standards-compliant cross browser pages that gracefully degrade.
- Advanced knowledge of digital imaging and illustration with Adobe CS3 products including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Knowledge of JavaScript, DOM Scripting (AJAX), PHP and dynamic HTML.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE6&7, Firefox, Safari, etc.).
- Extensive experience working on a Mac platform.
- Superior knowledge of current web-design trends and techniques, a strong online portfolio displaying user-centered design.

Sr. Web Developer

Description:
The Sr. Web Developer will design, implement and maintain uLocate web sites including www.where.com. Your core mission will be to increase the reach and range of our Web sites through both content generation and organic search engine optimization tasks. Your ability to design and quickly implement clear, effective web pages while responding to a variety of web-related requests across departments will also be critical to your success.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 to 5 years in web based technologies.
- Experience implementing and maintaining consumer-oriented Web sites.
- Demonstrated skills and creative approaches to search engine optimization
- Expert JSP, PHP and JavaScript skills; Python is a plus.
- Java experience would be ideal; database skills with MySQL are a definite asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CSS
- Experience in LAMP environments is a must.
- Clean UI implementation and knowledge of website design best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
